LIVINGSTON, NJ — The West Essex YMCA is excited to receive a generous contribution of $80,000 from the Rotary Club of Livingston that will go toward the new Y facility under construction at 304 S. Livingston Ave.
This significant gift from the Rotary Club will name one of the two Community Rooms at the new West Essex Y. This room will serve as space for meetings and events that benefit Y members and the broader community, fostering connection and engagement for years to come.
"The West Essex YMCA team is incredibly grateful for the support and partnership of the Livingston Rotary Club," said Cheryl Tuturice, District Executive Director of the West Essex YMCA. "With this generous gift, the Rotary joins with the YMCA in a historic investment in the future of Livingston and the surrounding communities—thereby expanding the Y's ability to fulfill its mission of strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility."
The new West Essex Y facility is slated to open at the end of this year and will serve as a cornerstone for community activities designed to promote health, wellness, and engagement among children, adults, and families. The new 54,000 square foot Y will be built at 304 S. Livingston Ave., within walking distance from the current West Essex Y. More details about this project are available at thenewlivingstonymca.org.
The West Essex Y and Rotary Club have been longstanding partners. The club’s contribution underscores its dedication to service and community improvement.
“The West Essex YMCA has long been a cornerstone for health, inclusion, and opportunity, and we are proud to collaborate on a facility that will serve generations to come,” said Harsh Raju, Rotary Club President. “Rotary’s mission is rooted in service above self, and this partnership embodies our collective commitment to building a stronger, healthier, and more connected community. This capital gift reflects what’s possible when organizations come together around a shared vision for community well-being.”
