Sussex YMCA Golf Event Raises $46K for Community Programs, Assistance

HARDYSTON, NJ —The Sussex County YMCA hosted its 24th Annual Golf Outing on May 20 at the award-winning Ballyowen Golf Club, bringing together 100 golfers and raising a net total of $46,594 to provide financial assistance for YMCA programs and memberships for local children, families, and adults.

“It’s truly inspiring to see the community come together in support of the YMCA’s mission,” said Deborah Kessler, Chief Development Officer for the Metropolitan YMCA of the Oranges. “We are deeply grateful to the players, sponsors, donors, staff, and volunteers who make this annual event possible. The funds raised will help expand access to critical programs such as chronic disease prevention, cancer recovery, after-school care, and swim lessons, ensuring more people in our community can benefit from the Y.”

The Golf Outing supports the YMCA’s Annual Support Campaign, which helps ensure that cost is not a barrier to participation. In 2025, the Sussex County YMCA provided financial assistance to one in four children attending summer camp and one in seven children enrolled in before- and after-school care programs.

Funds raised also support free and subsidized programs, including LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA for cancer survivors, Safety Around Water (a drowning prevention program), the Y First physician referral program, Veterans Wellness Program, and free memberships for middle school students.

“Thanks to the success of this year’s outing, more individuals and families will be able to access programs at an affordable cost,” said Corey Brown, Executive Director of the Sussex County YMCA. “Financial challenges should never prevent someone from being part of a supportive, healthy community.”

HQW Architects served as this year’s Tournament Sponsor. Additional major sponsors included Wallkill Group, Provident Bank, RoNetco, Your Diet Guy, Hudson Farms, Berardi Building, and Perona Farms.

Attendees enjoyed a catered breakfast, a full day of golf, and a reception where YMCA members shared personal stories about the organization’s impact across Sussex County.
