Greater Bergen County YMCA Welcomes Two New Board Members

NEW MILFORD, NJ - The Greater Bergen County YMCA, New Milford Program Center, a branch of the Metropolitan YMCA of the Oranges, has welcomed Vicky Farhi from Hackensack and Michael Mione from New Milford to its Board of Managers as of Nov. 1, 2026. The board works closely with the Y’s leadership team to ensure that facilities and programs align with the Y’s mission and remain accessible to everyone in the community.

“We are delighted to welcome Vicky and Michael to our Board of Managers,” said Jason Kelly, Executive Director, Greater Bergen County YMCA, New Milford Program Center. “Their dedication to service reflects the spirit of the Y and the importance of bringing people together to build a stronger community.”

Both members bring a strong commitment to service and believe in the importance of investing in people and programs that help families thrive.

Vicky Farhi

Farhi has a longstanding record of civic involvement in Hackensack, including service with the Board of Education, Zoning Board, PTA Presidents’ Council, and Recreation and Cultural Board. As Recreation and Cultural Board chair, she helped advance the opening of the city’s first soccer field and cultural arts center. She also played a key role in organizing community support for the school budget, demonstrating how collaboration and civic engagement can create lasting change.

Her connection to the Y is personal: her sons participated in swimming lessons and other Y activities, giving her firsthand appreciation for the role the Y plays in bringing families together.

Michael Mione

Mione brings experience in business management, organizational leadership, and community service. His involvement includes the New Milford school community, the Boy Scouts, and local fundraising and charitable initiatives. He shares the Y’s commitment to supporting young people and strengthening families.
