LIVINGSTON, NJ - The Metropolitan YMCA of the Oranges, a leading non-profit organization serving Bergen, Essex, and Sussex counties, is pleased to welcome local business owner Austin Filis to its Board of Directors, where he will help guide policy and strategic direction in support of the Y’s mission to strengthen the community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.

Filis is a Founding Partner at RMG, an accounting services firm based in Livingston, and brings more than 15 years of experience providing advisory, assurance, and tax services to closely held businesses and their leadership teams.

“I’m honored to expand my involvement with the Y in a meaningful way,” Filis said. “I look forward to strengthening my connection to the local community by creating additional opportunities for volunteering, mentorship, and service. Through active engagement of both my personal and professional networks, I hope to deepen relationships within the Y community and help extend its positive impact on youth, families, and future leaders.”

Throughout his career at RMG, Filis has served as a trusted advisor to business owners, executive management teams, and boards of directors, helping organizations navigate complex financial challenges while working toward long‑term strategic goals.

Filis holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Accounting from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business and is a Certified Public Accountant.

A Livingston native, he resides in Harding Township, NJ, with his wife of 14 years, Lori, and their two daughters, Ava (5) and Lia (3).

“We are excited to welcome Austin to the Y Board of Directors,” said Richard K. Gorab, President and CEO of the Metro YMCA of the Oranges. “Austin brings a strong commitment to community, along with valuable professional expertise that will help strengthen our organization. His passion for service and connection aligns closely with the Y’s mission, and we look forward to the positive impact his leadership will have on the families and communities we serve.”
